Over the last years, cities have represented a challenge to achieve Sustainable Development; their high growth rate has brought negative effects in the urban environmental quality. The Paris Agreement recognizes that cities play a key role in the mitigation and adaptation to climate change and in the transition to energy sustainable models. Cities represent more than 60% of energy consumption and 75% of carbon emissions.
